Couldn't have said it better myself.
I wonder why he didn't get the death penalty when he was obviously one crazy bastard. I mean, he's going to die in prison anyway; why not give the families of the victims the decency of providing an execution?

no don't excute with a lethal injection or anything.
This is how freaks like him should be killed leave him naked strapped to the ground over a fire ant hill with pegs and chains then covered in honey. If he survives that for 3 days then heal him all up and cut off his penis and make him eat it and then have him die by being dunked into a vat of sulfuric acid.
The punishment for a crime of this magnitude has to be so high that no one will ever even contemplate commiting the crime.

I guess they could torture him with thumbscrews, wait and mend his injuries, and torture him again until he dies.

Instant-death, or release, is far too good for any murderer. I would rather let them rot in a prison and left alone for 50 years. Being alone with nothing to do until you die will make you only think of the thing that got you in there and go out of your mind. I have heard so much . . .

The death penalty is all well and good for a situation like this where he admitted his crimes.....but anything otherwise not really. Look at how many peoples verdicts have been overturned just by DNA evidence. Me personally I'd rather have the death penalty then life in prison even if I was innocent because if your not free by the time your appeals are up most likely you'll never be. Problem is a lot of people would rather spend life in jail so your doing them a favor cause theyre so scared of dying. So theres the dilema I guess.

they keep him alive for study so they can better understand the criminal mind someday they hope to be able to spot criminals befor they can attack were they can weed out there criminal tendancys at the moment its pretty much impossible to stop a killer befor he strikes since a killer as crazy as that man may seem to be the nicest guy you have ever meet you may even be freinds with him and never know that he goes and kills people if he was married i doubt even his wife knew about it.
anyone can be a killer now thats a creepy thought.

. . . . . . Evil beyond words, death is as many people have said are too good for him.For once I DO believe in cruel and unusal punishments for people like this. And Kazahana that is how a crimanal or murderous mind works.Im not a crimanal or murduror of course, but I its how I am I understand people's thoughts if you know what I mean.

More often than that in extreme cases like these, there're physiological signs linked to the behaviour, bearing in mind that correlation and causation are not one and the same.
However, when a nice guy turns mean and nasty after an injure involving a pipe going through his head, it's pretty hard to refute that your physical state does have an effect on your mental state.
Not to say what happened wasn't horrible, but I just can't believe a person in the right state of mind would do such things =\
Maybe it's for the best that he be put to death, or kept out of society forever [ie; true life imprisonment with no chance of parole, or whatever the terminology is], but I still can't help but feel sympathy for him as well as the victims.
It's easy to be angry, but leaving it at that is pointless. To totally ignore whatever underlying reasons there may be for such behaviour is foolish.
What I mean to say is that this isn't enough to condemn him to hell yourself with. For all we know, in other circumstances, in a world where serious problems like that could be identified and treated early on, he could be a saint.
I'm not saying he should live and be subjected to ineffectual treatments in a mental hospital [With the possibility of strangling a nurse, or some other such similar horror story], I'm saying that when he's dead and gone, you could at least then have a little compassion for him.
And don't think I don't practice what I preach. I'll be the first to admit I can be rash and overzealous at times, but a negative outburst by myself is always followed by a genuine regret. Anger's such an easy emotion, and empathy not so much.
[It's late, so I hope all of the above isn't too muddled.]

for the sake of this guy, i sincerely hope hell is real, and he gets one sick RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO of a demon as his caretaker
EDIT: ^^ the only problem with that is that he knows he's doing wrong, maybe not realises it. that "I know she's a human being, but i'm a monster" thing he said?

It's hard to say what this guy really deserves. I mean, he really could have had all those personal demons he claimed to have; and, like someone else said, if this was a society that could have treated him of that disorder, he could have been a decent, society-benefitting human being.
Also, I believe the families deserve at least some closure. After the psychologists are done with him, like in a couple of years, they can give him the death sentence, via lethal injection or the chair. I believe that the families would have sufficien amount of closure and grief to put their ordeals out of their mind.
Another thing is that we shouldnt stoop to his level. As bad as most of us want to hack off each of his limbs one by one with a dull blade, giving him some nasty infection in the process, or whatever other nasty little revenges you would want to give him, that would go against your better nature. Just let him die and be done with it is what I suggest.

As a parent of a small child... the evil that dwells in this mans heart sickens me. Yes~ in todays world there truly are monsters in the closets..... Small children abducted from their homes, on the way home from churches...etc.... Makes you want to lock your babies up and never let them see outside your four walls, because *are they safe* crosses your mind 500 times.... I live in a very small town (maybe 800 ppl) and I still worry everyday for my daughter. People like this man have no remorse, no thought to the pain they cause the families and unfortunately to his own family... There will never be a way to completely understand why he did the things he did, to say he is sick is not enough....I do not feel sorry for him~burning in the firey pits of hell still is not justice~~~The sick monstrosity, if kept alive will only relive each sick move he made to satisify the cravings he will always have(a zebra cant change his stripes)....Death is the only true cure~~Satisfaction guaranteed..........Living on this earth would only say to other monsters hiding in closets that its ok... it guarantees me three hots and a cot..&...something they truly do not deserve.... Life...something he has robbed from small children, that at the time had not even begun for them...***steps of maternal soapbox***
